Linda Howes    AEA-AFTRA-SAG

Linda Howes appeared on Broadway in Tom Topor’s NUTS, directed by Stephen Zuckerman.  She has performed with numerous New York companies including The New York Shakespeare Festival, WPA Theatre, Theatre Off-Park, and as a charter member of The Heritage Theatre.   She also appeared in the world premiere of A Chain of Summer Voices (OOBR Award winner) as the spinster, Maggie, and most recently in Hamburger, Where Eagles Dare Theatre’s inaugural production, “in a beautiful performance” (OOBR) as Ida Blinkstein, an elderly woman displaced from her home.  Regionally, Miss Howes was a member of Adrian Hall’s Trinity Repertory Company.  She has also performed in films, daytime dramas, commercials, and voice-overs.

Favorite roles have included Thea in Hedda Gabler, Cecilia in The Animal Kingdom, Oolan in Forensic & the Navigators, Lady Sandra in Pomp and Circumstance, Kate in The Twelve Pound Look, Doto in A Phoenix Too Frequent, Mrs. Arbuthnot in A Woman of No Importance, and Mistress Page (US to Marcia Rodd) and Mistress Ford (US to Cynthia Harris) in The Merry Wives of Windsor.

A graduate of The University of Michigan, Miss Howes also studied acting in New York with Ada Brown Mather and Nikos Psacharopoulos, film technique with Bill Hopkins, and commercials and voice-overs at Weist-Barron.  She lives happily in Manhattan with her husband, musician and software designer Stephen Phebus, and Sybil, their chat bizarre.
